Superposed-epoch method
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009413
A statistical technique used to identify periodic or recurring signals in a time series by aligning multiple segments of data relative to a specific event or phase. This method involves averaging the data segments, which enhances the signal and reduces random noise. It is often applied in atmospheric science to study the response of weather patterns to phenomena like solar flares or volcanic eruptions.
