Turbidimeter

An instrument used to measure the turbidity of a fluid, which is the cloudiness or haziness caused by suspended particles. It operates by passing a light beam through a sample and measuring the amount of light scattered or absorbed by the particles. Turbidimeters are used in environmental monitoring to assess water quality and atmospheric aerosol concentrations.
