Bins

Small, regularly spaced cells or areas on the Earth's surface into which seismic data are sorted and grouped for processing. In 3D seismic acquisition, common midpoint (CMP) gathers are collected into bins based on their geographic location. The size of the bins influences the spatial resolution of the final seismic image.
