Bucking coil
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000480
A secondary coil in an electromagnetic logging tool designed to cancel out or reduce unwanted signals, such as direct coupling between transmitter and receiver coils. By generating an opposing magnetic field, it improves the signal-to-noise ratio and enhances the accuracy of the primary measurement. This technique is common in induction logging tools.
