Cesium acetate
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000628
A high-density, solids-free brine used as a completion or workover fluid, particularly in high-pressure, high-temperature wells. Its formulation as a clear liquid minimizes formation damage that could be caused by solid weighting agents. Cesium acetate brines can achieve densities up to approximately 18.4 pounds per gallon (2.2 specific gravity) and are fully miscible with other formate brines.
