Horizontal resistivity
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001854
The electrical resistivity of a formation measured parallel to the bedding planes, denoted as Rh. In anisotropic formations, where properties vary with direction, it differs from the vertical resistivity measured perpendicular to the bedding. Induction logging tools, especially those used in highly deviated or horizontal wells, are designed to measure both horizontal and vertical resistivity to characterize laminated reservoirs and determine hydrocarbon saturation more accurately.
