Lubricant

A drilling fluid additive that reduces friction between the drill string and the wellbore, as well as between moving parts of drilling equipment. These substances prevent torque and drag issues, which can hinder drilling progress. Common lubricants include oil-based products, synthetic fluids, and certain polymers.
