Polyolefin

A family of thermoplastic polymers made from olefin monomers such as ethylene and propylene, which includes polyethylene and polypropylene. These plastics are chemically inert, hydrophobic and less dense than water. Polypropylene has a density of about 0.9 grams per cubic centimeter, and polyethylene ranges from about 0.91 to 0.94.
