Proximity log

A pad-mounted focused micro-resistivity log that reads the flushed-zone resistivity Rxo from a depth of a few inches, deeper than the microlaterolog. The deeper reading makes it less sensitive to mudcake, so it is used where the mudcake is thick, whereas the microlaterolog needs mudcake thinner than about 3/8 inch. Like other pad devices it needs a conductive water-based mud.
