Sample frequency
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003235
The rate at which discrete measurements of a continuous seismic signal are taken during data acquisition, expressed in Hertz (Hz). It determines the highest frequency component that can be accurately recorded without aliasing, according to the Nyquist criterion. A typical sample frequency for seismic data is 250 Hz or 500 Hz.
