Styrene
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003668
An organic compound with the chemical formula C8H8, used as a monomer in the production of synthetic polymers and resins for drilling fluid applications. Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) latex, derived from styrene, is added to cement slurries to improve flexibility, reduce fluid loss, and enhance bonding to casing.
