Latex

A synthetic polymer emulsion used as an additive in drilling fluids to control fluid loss and improve filter cake quality. It forms a flexible, impermeable film on the wellbore wall, reducing the invasion of drilling fluid into permeable formations. Latex can also be used as a shale stabilizer or a lost circulation material.
