Resin

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003126

A synthetic or natural organic polymer used as an additive in drilling fluids to enhance fluid loss control, improve wellbore stability, or serve as a cementing agent. Resins can form a low-permeability filter cake on the wellbore wall, reducing fluid invasion into the formation. They are often thermosetting, meaning they harden irreversibly when heated.
