Tie line
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003836
A line connecting the compositions of two coexisting phases in a phase diagram, indicating equilibrium conditions at a specific temperature and pressure. It represents the partitioning of components between, for example, an oil phase and an aqueous phase. Tie lines are used in enhanced oil recovery to understand how injected fluids interact with reservoir fluids and to design miscible or immiscible displacement processes.
