Rework

The process of repeating one or more manufacturing steps on a semiconductor wafer or device that failed initial inspection or testing. This is done to correct defects or improve performance, bringing the product into specification without discarding the entire unit. Rework procedures are carefully controlled to avoid further damage and are often limited to a specific number of attempts.
