Alicyclic compounds
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012851
Organic compounds that contain one or more all-carbon rings which are not aromatic. These compounds combine characteristics of both aliphatic and cyclic compounds, exhibiting properties similar to open-chain alkanes or alkenes but in a cyclic structure. Cyclohexane and cyclohexene are common examples of alicyclic compounds.
