Antinicotinic

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000701

A pharmacological agent that blocks the action of acetylcholine at nicotinic receptors, which are a type of cholinergic receptor. These receptors are found in the central nervous system, autonomic ganglia, and neuromuscular junctions. Curare is an antinicotinic agent that causes muscle paralysis by blocking nicotinic receptors at the neuromuscular junction.
