Nicotinic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007938
Relating to or resembling the effects of nicotine, particularly concerning its action on specific acetylcholine receptors. Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors are ligand-gated ion channels found in the central and peripheral nervous systems, as well as at the neuromuscular junction. Activation of these receptors by acetylcholine or nicotine leads to rapid depolarization of the cell membrane.
