Aryl hydrocarbon receptor nucleotide translocator protein
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000824
A protein that forms a heterodimer with the ligand-bound aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) in the nucleus. This complex then binds to specific DNA sequences, known as xenobiotic response elements, to regulate the transcription of genes involved in xenobiotic metabolism and other cellular processes. It is a member of the basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) family of transcription factors.
