Axial ejection
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012910
The process in a mass spectrometer where ions are expelled along the central axis of a linear ion trap or a quadrupole ion trap. This method is used to transfer ions from the trap to a detector or another mass spectrometry stage. Axial ejection is often achieved by applying a resonant radiofrequency voltage to the end electrodes of the trap.
