Bare lymphocyte syndrome
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001113
A rare, inherited immunodeficiency disorder characterized by the inability of immune cells to express major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I or class II molecules on their surface. This defect severely impairs the immune system's ability to present antigens to T lymphocytes, leading to recurrent, severe infections. It is classified into two main types based on the affected MHC class.
