Bilinear equation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001217

A non-linear QSAR equation, proposed by Kubinyi, that relates biological potency, expressed as log 1/C, to lipophilicity: log 1/C equals a log P minus b log(βP plus 1) plus c, where P is the partition coefficient and a, b, β and c are fitted constants. The curve rises linearly with log P, bends over and then falls linearly, which differs from the symmetric parabola of the Hansch equation.
