Bismuthanes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001349
Saturated bismuth hydrides in which every bismuth atom is trivalent, with the formula BinHn+2, the simplest being BiH3, bismuthane, an extremely unstable compound. Longer chains are named dibismuthane, tribismuthane, and so on. Hydrocarbyl derivatives such as trimethylbismuthane are classed instead as bismuthines, which are far more stable than the hydride.
