Booster
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001435
An additional dose of an immunizing agent administered after the primary immunization series to increase or prolong the protective immune response. This subsequent exposure to an antigen stimulates a secondary immune response, characterized by a more rapid and greater production of antibodies. Booster doses are scheduled based on the observed decline in antibody titers or memory cell function for a specific vaccine.
