Brush polymer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001520

A polymer characterized by a linear backbone to which numerous polymeric side chains are densely grafted, resembling the bristles of a brush. The high density of side chains causes them to stretch away from the backbone due to steric repulsion. These polymers exhibit unique conformational and rheological properties, often used in surface modification and drug delivery.
