Carotid artery

One of two major arteries, located on each side of the neck, that supply oxygenated blood to the brain, head, and face. The common carotid artery bifurcates into the internal carotid artery, which supplies the brain, and the external carotid artery, which supplies the face and neck. Pulsations of the carotid artery can be felt in the neck.
