Chain-walking polymerization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001861

A type of coordination polymerization where the active catalytic center migrates along the growing polymer chain backbone between monomer insertions. This migration, or 'walking', allows for the formation of highly branched polymers with precise control over the branch architecture. It is often observed with late transition metal catalysts.
