Channels ratio method
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012965
A technique used in liquid scintillation counting to correct for quenching, which is the reduction in light output from a scintillator due to chemical or color effects. This method involves comparing the count rates in two different energy channels of the scintillation counter. The ratio of these counts provides an indication of the degree of quenching, which can then be used to determine the true activity of the radionuclide.
