Coextraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002175
The simultaneous extraction of two or more different chemical species from a sample matrix into an extracting phase. This can occur when multiple analytes have similar physicochemical properties that favor their partitioning into the same solvent or sorbent. It can be a desired outcome for group analysis or an interference if only one analyte is targeted.
