Comparator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002297
A substance of known composition or activity used as a reference in analytical procedures, particularly in activation analysis. It is irradiated alongside the sample under identical conditions to provide a basis for quantitative determination of elements. The activity induced in the comparator is measured and compared to that of the sample to calculate the concentration of the analyte.
