Conditioning film
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002392
A layer of adsorbed molecules, such as proteins, polysaccharides, and other organic or inorganic compounds, that forms rapidly on a material surface when exposed to a biological fluid or environment. This initial layer modifies the surface properties and influences subsequent biological interactions, including cell adhesion and biofilm formation. The composition and thickness of the film depend on the surface material and the biological medium.
