Core-shell structure
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002584
A morphological arrangement in which one material forms an inner core and is surrounded by a distinct outer layer of a different material. This configuration is common in self-assembled systems, such as micelles and vesicles, and in engineered nanoparticles. The properties of the core and shell can be independently tailored.
