Cresols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002671
A group of organic compounds that are methylphenols, meaning they are derivatives of phenol with a methyl group attached to the benzene ring. There are three isomers: ortho-cresol, meta-cresol, and para-cresol, differing in the position of the methyl group relative to the hydroxyl group. They are widely used as disinfectants and chemical intermediates.
