Isocoumarins
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006173
Benzo-fused six-membered lactones of the 1H-isochromen-1-one type, in which the carbonyl carbon is attached directly to the benzene ring and the ring oxygen is bonded on the other side, a reversal of the lactone arrangement in coumarin. They are isomers of coumarins. Many occur naturally in fungi and plants and show biological activity.
