Degrees of cistacticity and transtacticity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002955
Measures of the relative proportions of cis and trans configurations within a polymer chain, particularly in polymers derived from 1,3-dienes. Cistacticity quantifies the fraction of monomer units with a cis arrangement, while transtacticity quantifies those with a trans arrangement. These values significantly influence the polymer's flexibility and overall material properties.
