Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003204
A sample preparation process involving the chemical breakdown of a solid or complex matrix into a soluble form, typically for subsequent elemental analysis. This is achieved by heating the sample with strong acids, bases, or oxidizing agents to dissolve the analytes. The goal is to convert all components into a homogeneous solution suitable for techniques like atomic absorption spectroscopy or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry.
