Partial digestion

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008483

A chemical or physical process that incompletely breaks down a sample material, leaving some components undissolved or unreacted. This technique is often employed in analytical chemistry to selectively extract or solubilize specific analytes while minimizing interference from the bulk matrix. It contrasts with total digestion, where the entire sample is dissolved.
