Direct fission yield

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003256

The fraction of a specific nuclide formed directly as a primary product of nuclear fission, before any subsequent radioactive decay. This yield represents the immediate outcome of the fission event for a particular mass number and charge. It is distinct from cumulative fission yield, which includes products formed through the decay of precursors.
