Diterpenoids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003351
Terpenoids having a skeleton of 20 carbon atoms, formally built from four isoprene units, with oxygen-containing and rearranged members counted along with the hydrocarbon diterpenes. They include acyclic, monocyclic, and polycyclic structures. Examples are the gibberellins, retinol, and the anticancer drug paclitaxel, whose core is a diterpene skeleton carrying an added side chain.
