Donor phase

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003385

The phase in a separation process, such as liquid-liquid extraction, that initially contains the analyte of interest and from which the analyte is transferred. This phase is typically in contact with an acceptor phase, into which the analyte migrates. The properties of the donor phase, such as its polarity and pH, significantly influence the efficiency of analyte transfer.
