Electron donor
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003719
A chemical species that provides one or more electrons to another species during a chemical reaction. This process results in the oxidation of the electron donor and the reduction of the electron acceptor. Electron donors are often Lewis bases, as they can donate electron pairs to form new bonds.
