Double pulsed-field gradient spin-echo excitation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003408

An NMR pulse sequence that places two pulsed-field-gradient spin echoes in series, each containing a selective 180-degree pulse, so that only the chosen resonance stays in the transverse plane while all other magnetisation is dephased by the gradients. It gives clean, selective excitation of one signal or a few signals. It is the basis of excitation sculpting, a solvent-suppression method, and of selective 1D NOE and TOCSY experiments.
