Doublet state
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003421
An electronic state of an atom or molecule characterized by a total spin angular momentum quantum number of 1/2. This corresponds to a system with one unpaired electron. The multiplicity of a doublet state is 2, calculated as 2S+1 where S is the total spin.
