Double-wavelength spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003422
A spectroscopic method that measures absorbance or transmittance at two different wavelengths simultaneously or in rapid succession. One wavelength is chosen for maximum absorption by the analyte, while the other serves as a reference to correct for background interference or matrix effects. This technique is frequently employed in clinical chemistry for the determination of specific analytes in complex biological samples.
