Embossing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003831
A process for creating micro- or nanometer-scale patterns on a polymer surface by pressing a rigid mold, or stamp, into a polymer film. The polymer is heated above its glass transition temperature to become deformable, and pressure is applied to transfer the pattern from the stamp. This technique is distinct from molding, as it typically modifies only the surface of a pre-existing film or substrate.
