Endocon

The part of a conjugated metabolite that comes from a natural compound of the metabolizing organism, for example a sugar, an amino acid or another organic acid. The remaining part of the conjugate comes from the foreign compound that was metabolized. In a drug glucuronide, the glucuronic acid unit is the endocon.
