Glucuronide

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013129

A compound formed by the enzymatic conjugation of a substance with glucuronic acid, typically through a glycosidic bond. This process, known as glucuronidation, is a major detoxification pathway in the body, making lipophilic compounds more water-soluble for excretion. Many drugs and xenobiotics are metabolized into glucuronides.
