Epithalamus
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004038
A small dorsal posterior segment of the diencephalon, which is a division of the forebrain. It includes the pineal gland, the habenular nuclei, and their interconnecting fibers, forming the roof of the third ventricle. The epithalamus is involved in connecting the limbic system to other parts of the brain and functions in regulating circadian rhythms through the pineal gland's production of melatonin.
