Fluorocarbons
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004529
Organic compounds in which some or all of the hydrogen atoms have been replaced by fluorine atoms. These compounds exhibit unique properties due to the strong carbon-fluorine bond and the high electronegativity of fluorine, including high thermal stability, chemical inertness, and low surface tension. Perfluorocarbons contain only carbon and fluorine atoms.
