Foldamer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004565
An oligomer or polymer that adopts a stable, well-defined secondary structure in solution, similar to the folded structures of proteins or nucleic acids. These synthetic macromolecules are designed to fold into specific conformations through non-covalent interactions between their monomer units. Foldamers are studied for their potential in molecular recognition, catalysis, and drug delivery.
